Welcome!

We find joy in knowing that God has brought us together today! We don't believe your visit to our church website was by chance so we invite you to join with us as we all learn, grow and encourage one another to walk with Jesus.

Plains Bible Chapel is not affiliated with any denomination. Under God's direction, the Word of God is taught here for the purpose of sharing the good news of Jesus Christ and for gaining understanding for spiritual growth. We believe prayer and dependence on God to be essential. Our church is casual and friendly. We give God all the glory for what He has done and in what He continues to do among us.

The Plains Bible Church held their first Sunday meeting on March 2, 1975. The first meetings were held in homes. With God's leading, this assembly of believers was established with an elder form of government and a desire to follow the biblical example of the early church. In time, the church outgrew home meetings and met in the Sanders County Fairgrounds Pavilion until the original chapel building was erected in 1979.

Our History

We Believe

We believe that the Bible is the divinely inspired and inerrant word of God, the revelation of His mind and will to man, our infallible and all-sufficient guide for salvation and for the christian life. (2Tim 3:16,17; 2Pet 1:20,21; Matt 5:18; John 5:39; Luke 24:24)

We believe in one God, the Creator of all, eternally existing in three persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Gen 1:1; Duet 4:39; John 19)

We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, that He is true God and true man, begotten of the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin and that He has a perfect and sinless humanity. (John 1:1; Phil 2:6; Matt 1:23-25; 1John 3:5; Heb 4:15)

We believe in the total depravity of the nature of man through his fall in the Garden of Eden, and the absolute inability of man to save himself from eternal punishment by his own works. (Gen 3; Rom 3:10-23; Eph 2:8,9)

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved, and the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost. (Rom 8:11; 1Thess 4:16,17; Rev 20:1-15)

We believe in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary, through which sacrifice Christ has effected complete and eternal redemption, God setting His seal of approval on the work of Christ by raising Him from among the dead, enthroned Him at His own right hand in heaven and that He, Jesus, is the Head of the church, the Lord of the individual, the High Priest over the house of God and Advocate for the family of God. (Rom 6:6; Col 2:14; 1Cor 15:3-6; Heb 7:25)

We believe in the immediate and eternal salvation of every person who truly believes on Christ and by faith rests on His finished work as the only righteous ground on which a holy God can forgive a person's sins. (1Cor 1:30; 1John 1:9; Romans 10:9,10; John 10:27,28)

We believe that all who by faith receive the Lord Jesus Christ as savior are born again of the Holy Spirit, indwelt by the Holy Spirit and sealed by the Holy Spirit into the body of Christ the church, of which He is the risen and ascended head. (1Cor 12:12-14; Eph 1:22,23; Col 1:18)

We believe in the practice of communion with the Lord's supper for the members of the body of Christ until He comes, in remembrance of Him and His sacrifice for us. (1Cor 11:23-26)

We believe in the privilege and duty of all those that name Christ as their savior to walk by faith as children of the light. (2Cor 5:7; Eph 5:11; 1Thess 2:12)

We believe in the personal, imminent, pre-millennial coming of the Lord to the air to rapture the Church. (1Thess 4:13-17 & 5:1-4)

We believe in the revelation of Christ in glory at his future coming to the earth to establish His thousand year reign on earth and to reign in righteousness. (2Thess 1:6-10; Phil 2:9-11; Rev 20:1-4)

We believe that the only legitimate marriage sanctioned by God is the joining of one man and one woman in a single and exclusive union, as described in the Word of God, His Scriptures. (Gen 2:21-24; Matt 19:4-6)
